REORGANISATION IN SDP

The National Chairman issued a Directive on the 30 March 2019 and National Secretary followed up with a party-wide Circular on the 31 March 2019 on Networking Platforms

A. THE DIRECTIVE

REORG DIRECTIVE
As part of the ongoing reorganisation and repositioning of our great SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY (SDP), all party members are hereby directed to exit or remove selves immediately from all Whatsapp, Telegram or other online groups previously set up in the name of SDP. New platforms for ALL genuine SDP members will be announced by the National Working Committee on 31/03/19. All those presently administering any SDP platforms are, by this directive, to close down such henceforth. Administrators of the new platforms are under strict instructions to use them for the promotion of the party’s ideology & core values and to continuously promote unity among members, equity and justice in party operations, definable in progressive terms.

B. THE CIRCULAR

REORG CIRCULAR NC-01 of 31 March 2019
SDP OFFICIAL PLATFORMS & NETWORKS

As directed by the Ag National Chairman based on the ongoing reorganisation and repositioning of our great party, Official SDP Platforms and Networks have been approved for special and general communication amongst Party faithfuls.
These SDP platforms are to facilitate official communication as well as social and general information processing amongst members of the party at all levels, using social media networks such as Whatsapp, Signal, Telegram or other online groups – including short massaging SMS.

The new Platforms are meant to compliment and coordinate physical structures of the SDP from the top down Unit levels.

For the avoidance of doubt, “the new Platforms shall be used for the promotion of the party’s ideology & core values and to continuously promote unity among members, equity and justice in party operations, definable in progressive terms”.

The new Platforms are briefly described below:

Level 1: National Platforms. These will serve the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee as well as the Zonal Centres. They will be labelled appropriately as National SDP Platform and will be administered by the Office of the National Chairman.

Level 2: State Platforms. These will serve the State Working Committees, State Executive Committees as well as Senatorial Districts. They will be labelled appropriately as XYZ State SDP Platform and will be administered by the respective Offices of the State Chairmen.

Level 3: LG Platforms. These will serve the Local Government Executive Committees as well as recognised Constituencies. They will be labelled appropriately as XYZ LG SDP Platform and will be administered by the respective Offices of the LG Chairmen.

Level 4: Ward Platforms. These will serve the Ward Executives as well as recognised Constituencies in order to drill down to the Units. They will be labelled appropriately as XYZ Ward SDP Platform and will be administered by the respective Offices of the Ward Chairmen.

In addition to the foregoing and to facilitate synergy, a small team has been set up at the Office of the National Chairman to coordinate these matters and to provide guidance to Party Chairmen as well as Group Admins to ensure smooth take-off and smooth operations. The team will see to proper networking between all the platforms and will administer strict operational instructions, strict adherence to laid down rules.
