The Ondo state chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), yesterday indefinitely suspended three officials of the party in the state over alleged anti-party activities.
The three officials who were suspended at the meeting of the State Executive Committee held at the party Secretariat, Akure, are, the state Secretary of the party, Mr. Dele Ogunbameru, Mr. Lere Adeodu and Mr. Raphael Irona.
According to a statement jointly signed by the state Chairman of the SDP, Chief Korede Duyile and Mr Remi Olayiwola, the state Publicity Secretary, a copy of which was made available to The Hope, the trio were suspended for “their flagrant disregard for the party’s constitution, disloyalty, infantile behaviours at public functions and many anti-party activities”.
The statement said SDP as a serious political organisation, would not condone the anti-party activities, noting that the officials’ indefinite suspension takes immediate effect.
The party said their indefinite suspension is being referred to the National headquarters of the party in Abuja for necessary actions, while it advised the INEC, members of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and the party members to refrain from dealing with the affected officials on behalf of the party.
